The Exonerated
By Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen
January 5 - 28, 2007
POTS@TheWorks, 2085 Monroe Ave. Memphis, TN
Culled from interviews, letters, transcripts, case files, and the public record, this powerful portrayal dramatizes the true accounts of six innocent survivors on death row in their own words. Blending monologues with scenes set in courtrooms and prisons, these interwoven stories convey a controversial snapshot of an American criminal justice system gone horribly wrong--and of six brave souls who persevered to survive it. Intense and deeply affecting, their stories demand reflection and pay tribute to the resilience of the human mind and heart.
