Reminiscent of Dead Poet's Society and Goodbye, Mr. Chips, this refreshingly vibrant, witty, and deeply emotional drama won the Tony Award for Best Play in 2006. An unruly class of bright, funny teenagers in a British boarding school are in pursuit of sex, sport, and an undergraduate place at a good university - generally in that order. In their efforts, they are bounced between their maverick English teacher who seeks to broaden their horizons in undefined ways and a young, shrewd professor hired to up their test scores. As the boys sift through it all, their journey becomes as much about how education works, as it is about the purpose of education today and where it eventually leads its pupils.
