Shakespeare-ience

This Spring T’NT will perform Shakespeare-ience.

SHAKESPEARE-IENCE contains the characters Romeo, Juliet, and Mercutio from Romeo and Juliet, Ferdinand and Miranda from The Tempest, Rosalind and Celia from As you Like It, Hamlet and Ophelia from Hamlet, and Julia and Lucetta from The Two Gentlemen of Verona. Shakespeare himself weaves the scenes together with Sonnets and some help from the fairies Ariel from The Tempest and Puck from A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The show itself follows the themes of dreams and love as Shakespeare calls on the fairies (Puck and Ariel) to help him bring his characters to life.

Shakespeare-ience
  • Who: Actors ages 12 to 17
  • When: Saturday, January 21, 2012, 4pm till 6pm
  • Where: The Varnell Education Building 1711 Poplar Ave. (next to The Evergreen Theatre)
  • What: Audition will consist of cold readings from the script

If Cast: Parent Meeting will be Thursday, January 26th, 6pm - 7pm.

Rehearsals will be held:

  • Saturday's from 9am - 2pm, January 28th - March 17th.
    •            
  • Thursdays 6pm - 8pm, February 2nd - March 1st.
    •            
  • And nightly Tuesday through Friday March 13th - March 21st.
    •            
  • Performance dates will be between March 22nd through April 1st.

Teens In Theatre provides a performance and learning venue for 12-17 year olds from around the Mid South. Teens must audition to be in the troupe, which performs at various sites in the Fall and in the Spring. Membership in the troupe includes duties such as ticket sales and production tasks.
